Frequently Asked Questions

What if I am not sure whether I am ready for therapy?

That is extremely common! You may choose to schedule a 10mins call with Christine to talk about your struggles and concerns. Christine also utilize evidence-based tools such as Motivational Interviewing and value works to help you make an informed decision.

What is your cancellation Policy:

We understand that life can be unpredictable and plans sometimes need to change. However, because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you, we require at least two full business days' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This notice period allows us enough time to offer the session to another client who may be waiting for urgent support.

Please note that weekends and public holidays do not count as business days. For example, if your appointment is on a Monday at 10:00 AM, you will need to let us know by no later than 10:00 AM on the preceding Thursday. If you cancel with less than two business days' notice, or if you miss your session entirely, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the standard session rate will apply. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us manage our waitlist effectively.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. If you are Medicare eligible, you may reach out to your GP to obtain a copy of a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), which allows up to 10 subsidized therapy sessions per calendar year.

If you are not eligible for Medicare, or if you simply prefer not to use a GP referral, you can absolutely still access our services by utilizing private health insurance or paying entirely out-of-pocket. For those using private health funds, we recommend checking directly with your provider to see if your specific policy covers psychological or counseling services.

Regardless of your Medicare status, the process to begin is straightforward. You can initiate contact by reaching out through our online booking form, sending us an email, or giving our office a call to express your interest. Once you connect with us, we will conduct a brief initial intake to understand your unique needs. From there, we will help you secure a convenient time for your initial consultation and send over the necessary intake paperwork to complete comfortably at home before your first visit. If Christine’s waiting list is too long or she thinks another therapist might be a better fit to help you, she may refer you to someone else. The goal is to make sure your needs are looked after.

Do you offer telehealth (online) appointments?

Yes, we offer telehealth appointments for clients who prefer the flexibility of attending sessions from the comfort of their own home or are unable to visit the clinic in person. To ensure your privacy and data security, we use a dedicated healthcare platform. This platform complies with all Australian privacy standards, meaning your sessions remain entirely confidential.

Getting connected is very straightforward—you do not need to download any special software or create an account. Instead, we will email you a secure, direct link prior to your appointment time, which you can simply click to join the video session from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. For your own comfort and confidentiality, we do highly recommend that you set yourself up in a quiet, private place where you can speak freely without distractions.

What should I expect for the first session?

Before your first session, you'll receive intake forms and some brief questionnaires to complete. These help me gather background information and get an initial picture of what you're experiencing, so we can make the most of our time together in session.

Your first session runs for 90 minutes, a little longer than a standard appointment. This gives us time to complete a comprehensive assessment — exploring your current concerns, relevant history, and what you'd like to get out of therapy, as well as screening for any related symptoms. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with; the aim is simply for me to understand your needs as fully as possible. After this session, I'll spend dedicated time reviewing what we've discussed and researching the approaches best suited to your situation, so that I can present a preliminary treatment plan for us to discuss together at your next session.

What are your fees?

A standard 50-minute therapy session for an individual is $210. The first session fee is $265 (for a 90-min session).

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $$89.50 per session (as of 1 July 2026) for up to 10 sessions each calendar year.

  • Group workshops: TBA

  • Longer appointments are available upon request and are charged at a pro-rata rate based on our standard session fee.
